Description

One of my favorite recent finds, and one steeped in U.S. history. This is a working Waltham A-8 military stopwatch from WW2, manufactured in 1944. Manufacture and serial numbers are engraved on the caseback, as well as owner initials “JLA” and the base code “2380” indicating Roosevelt Field 1 in Long Island, NY. This is a piece of military history that, at the very least, saw training and pre-deployment activity. Winds, starts, stops, and resets, just as it did 80 years ago. Center hand seconds, subdial hand minutes.
